Andrew Shurtleff I specialize as a Charlottesville freelance photographer in commercial, sports, photojournalism, architectural, and portrait photography while currently working as the Director of Photography for the Charlottesville Daily Progress.

I began my career in high school winning local art shows and continued photographing for my college newspaper at Florida State University where I earned my degrees in Economics and Business.

My work has been featured in numerous magazines, national newspapers, wire services and international publications including: Newsweek, Time, People, National Geographic Traveler, Vanity Fair, Maxim, New York Times, USA Today, LA Times, Sports Illustrated, ESPN The Magazine, Slam Magazine, ESPN.com, Yahoo.com, Euro Yahoo, MSN.com, the Associated Press and UVA Alumni Magazine.

I am a member of National Press photographer Association (NPPA), Virginia News Photographers Association (VNPA), Virginia Press Association (VPA), American Society of Media Photographers (ASMP), SportsShooter, Professional Photographers Association (PPA), the Associated Press (AP) and a member of Canon Professional Services.

I also do pro bono work for several Charlottesville based non-profit organizations as well as fund raising for local charities.

I currently live in Charlottesville, Virginia with my wife and daughter.
