MEMBER SHOWCASE

A black bear falls from a tree in the median of the Route 29 in Albermarle County near Charlottesville, Va. on Thursday, April 11, 2002 after being tranquilized by wildlife officials. The bear was first hit by a car Wednesday evening and was eventually captured by the Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries. Wildlife officials then took the animal to an undislosed location, where they said they would attend to the broken leg they said the bear suffered when it was hit by the car Wednesday night.
